Summer 2012 - Part 1

Well, it's been a pretty lazy summer so far. Too hot to do too much. Plus,  no money to do too much :)
My kids have been watching movies, actually, a lot of musicals (go figure), and getting ready for upcoming auditions.

Scout had an audition in early July. She got called back but didn't make it into the mostly teen cast. She wasn't surprised but was a little bummed. After that she did a week long internship at the theater helping her voice teacher with the 3-6 year old campers. She loved doing it and helping them put on their show at the end of the week. Now she just started summer camp doing Into the Woods and is excited to have gotten the role of Jack (from the beanstalk), which is one of the leads. As long as she is busy, she is happy.

Jem is auditioning for Music Man in  early August. Here are his audition songs:

He wants the part of Winthrop. Cross your fingers for him!
He has been watching videos of these two musicals and studying the songs. He's pretty funny with his determination to get a role.

Here are a few of the things we've done this summer to have fun on a pretty much $0 budget :)
